00:00 Bramham Park is gearing up for Leeds Festival 2023, which will see Billie Eilish headline
00:06 the main stage east and Imagine Dragons headline main stage west on Friday the 25th of August,
00:12 Sam Fender and Foles will bring Saturday the 26th to a close, and The Killers and The 1975
00:18 headline on Sunday the 27th.
00:21 The main arena is open from 5pm on Thursday the 24th for those with early bird and weekend
00:26 camping tickets, and it's open from 11am on Friday through to Sunday.
00:31 Disposable vapes are banned from the event this year, as are campfires and disposable
00:35 barbecues.
00:36 Organisers say pop-up tents just aren't worth it, and they recommend a high-quality tent,
00:41 and remember to take it with you when leaving.
00:44 At the time of recording, light showers are expected during the afternoon on Friday and
00:48 Saturday may see some rain in the morning, but on the whole it's looking like a dry weekend
00:54 with sunny spells and temperatures of around 19 degrees.
00:57 There's plenty more useful info handily compiled online, including all the ways to get to and
01:02 from the event, but just now let's meet Leeds band Lobjective, who are playing the festival
01:07 for the first time on Sunday the 27th of August.
01:11 Hello, we are Lobjective, and we're in the wardrobe, one of the first gigs we played
01:15 as a band, our first headliner in lockdown, which was all seated.
01:20 I'm Saul.
01:23 I'm Dan.
01:25 I'm Isra.
01:26 I'm Louis.
01:27 We got texted on Instagram by BBC Introducing saying that there was a voting process or
01:34 something and we'd basically been voted to play, and we've always wanted to play it and
01:40 we have a good relationship with BBC Introducing, so it was just like, we were ecstatic really,
01:46 we were just really looking forward to it.
01:48 I just told everyone and we were just like, well yeah, I guess we're playing Leeds fest.
01:52 I guess that's happening.
01:53 I mean, all our local, all our family and friends obviously in Leeds were like, oh my
01:58 god you're playing the festival of the town, and it's just quite a big thing.
02:02 I think everyone in the local community, who I know and who we all work locally in Leeds,
02:08 everyone's like, oh my god, these boys are playing Leeds fest.
02:11 It's just like, feels great, yeah, really exciting.
02:14 We spent a lot of this year doing a lot of music and recording side of things instead
02:19 of being live as much, so it'd be nice to actually get back to playing a lot of gigs
02:23 now which would be good.
02:24 We thought it'd be nice to sort of, when we come back, just make it something fresh.
02:28 Obviously still have a few of the old and goldies, but have a few of the new songs as
02:32 well, so it'd be good to see how people are reacting to the new music.
02:36 You're practising so many skills and not just your instrument, but people skills, learning
02:40 how these festivals work, how the gigs work, and how to sort of conduct yourself in these
02:46 really bizarre environments, but they're so enjoyable if you really want to grasp them.
02:52 So I think that's what we've all been doing, just learning our way around this new crazy
02:57 world.
02:58 Thank you very much.
02:59 Catch us on the BBC Introducing stage on Sunday at Leeds Fest.
03:02 Oh yeah.
