Transcript
00:00 Luton Town have got a huge task on to avoid the drop in their first appearance in England's
00:07 top flight in their history.
00:09 They have had a significant delay to their season's home games at Kenilworth Road.
00:14 Whilst the ground's capacity meets the Premier League regulations, they are having to rebuild
00:18 the majority of the bobbers stand to meet broadcast and media requirements.
00:24 The work is set to cost around ÂŁ10 million, meaning their first home game will fall all
00:29 the way on 1 September.
00:31 They were mentioned a fair few times when brought up with relegation candidates this
00:36 season.
00:37 "From my point of view, I think Luton look poor.
00:42 This is all coming from one weekend, things can massively change.
00:45 It's a long old season.
00:46 But just based on right this very second now, Luton for me, Sheffield United and I'm going
00:52 to say Everton.
00:53 I know Wolves have been mooting a little bit but I think Wolves do have some good players
00:57 and if Gary O'Neill who did wonders with Bournemouth can get anything going there, I think you
01:02 might just be alright up in the black country.
01:05 So I'm going to say Everton because I know Sean Dyche has a good record of keeping Burnley
01:11 up but I just don't think Everton have got a massively good squad.
01:15 Two teams who came up perhaps going back down for me alongside Everton who have been so
01:20 most than ever present in the Premier League."
01:22 "I think I'm going to be very standard with this.
01:25 I wish I wasn't.
01:26 I'd like to subvert a little bit but I'm not going to.
01:28 Luton Town, I don't think their squad is good enough.
01:31 I think Sheffield United, it's the same case.
01:34 Especially with the Blades, the way that they've gone about their transfer business, losing
01:38 their best players and not really replacing them properly.
01:41 It was going to be Wolves for me just because they've not made any proper signings.
01:45 They've got Doherty and Tom King in and they're not going to make any more is what it looks
01:49 like but after their performance at Man United, that could really change.
01:54 Everton I think could genuinely be in trouble even though they've made some good signings.
01:58 I just don't think that they've got that confidence there at the moment."
02:01 Everton are a side that were also mentioned a fair amount when discussing a possible relegation.
02:08 Having avoided a drop for the last two seasons by the skin of their teeth, research by Opta
02:13 showed that only 8% of Toffees fans believed their club was being run well.
02:18 So after the Premier League opener, did they show some positive signs that staying up again
02:22 could be on the cards?
02:24 "Yeah, they definitely showed a little bit.
02:26 Obviously in the field they looked solid.
02:28 That in the field, it's just a game.
02:32 I was with Gonara in the first half, it was a tour de force in the engine room.
02:37 It's not like they got beat 1-0 and they created a day for chances.
02:42 There was enough there to think that there will be positives going forward, especially
02:46 when better players can be deployed."
02:49 Plenty of clubs mentioned and plenty of drama awaits as the new season in the Premier League
02:55 is underway.
02:56 And who knows, maybe these picks are completely wrong come the end of the campaign.
03:01 But that's all part of the fun.
