In India, a Railway Protection Force (RPF) officer opened fire and killed 4 people, including his senior, on a train from Jaipur to Mumbai.
According to Indian media, the RPF personnel opened fire on the moving train and killed four people.
Constable Chetan Singh, 33, first shot dead his 57-year-old senior ASI Tika Ram Meena, after which Chetan Kumar went into another compartment and opened fire, killing three civilians.
The two dead persons have been identified as 64-year-old Abdul Qadir and 48-year-old Asghar Abbas Ali, while the deceased is an unknown person.
The police arrested the accused and started an investigation to find out the motive behind the incident.
Chetan Singh, 33, who has been working with the RPF for over 12 years, was posted at the Lower Parel workshop. He was on a 12-day leave and returned from his hometown Hathras in Uttar Pradesh on July 18 after which he was put on escort duty.
Railway officials said that about an hour before the incident, Chetan Singh had called up ASI Tika Ram Meena in the control room to complain about his uneasiness, after which his replacement was supposed to come, but after a few minutes, Singh told Meena. That he is feeling better and can continue working.
IG Western Railway Police PC Sinha said that Constable Chetan Singh is quick to anger and also has mental health issues.
According to officials, Chetan Singh was caught by RPF and GRP personnel when he was trying to escape after the train stopped near Mira Road railway station.
