Despite the rain delaying the Day of 5 Border-Gavaskar trophy, the match started in Melbourne's MCG ground. India wraped up the final two Aussie wickets quickly and won the MCG Test by 137 runs to retain the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. And, once everyone was on the field, Indian cricket team wrapped things up and won their first Test match at MCG after 37 years. This win also made sure that India won their first Boxing Day Test match. Jasprit Bumrah was adjudged the Man of the Match for his performance with the ball. He took 9 wickets in the match, which is the first Indian bowler to take 9 wickets in a Test in Australia. Virat Kohli also made history with this win. e became the first Indian captain to retain the Border-Gavaskar Trophy on Australian soil.
