Year in Review: Throwback to Virat Kohli's journey in 2018 I Highlights from the tours
  • 8 months ago
Virat Kohli ended the year 2018 with 2735 International runs under his kitty. These included 11 hundreds and 4 overseas Test wins. He also ended the year as the number 1 Test batsman in the latest released ICC rankings. The Indian cricket team captain started his quest to conquer 2018 with the tour of South Africa. Kohli became a force to reckon with in the tour as he became the first player to score 500 runs in a bilateral tour. But he wasn't able to win the series as India went down 2-1 against the Proteas. Kohli, who had a dismal tour against England in his first outing, had a prolific one in 2018. Although, India failed to win the tour, Kohli's performance with the bat made him into King Kohli. The final frontier for team India was against Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. India is yet to win a series down under and with a win at Adelaide and Melbourne Cricket Ground, Kohli's team has become the first Indian side to win two Tests there. This was his 11th overseas win as a captain which has levelled him with Sourav Ganguly. Come January 3rd, 2019, Kohli has a chance to script history yet over again. Will 2019 be any different for King Kohli?
