Russia to launch lunar mission, the first in nearly 50 years

Images from Russia's space agency, Roscosmos, show a Soyuz rocket being prepared to launch the Luna-25 lander to space, with Russia announcing that it plans to return to the Moon for the first time in nearly fifty years.

After multiple delays, the lander is set to be sent to orbit on August 11, and is planned to be deployed to study the lunar surface for one year. (Video Courtesy of AFP)
