The new significant Manchester developments approved by the planning committee - including huge student accommodation blocks and affordable housing
  • 9 months ago
Last week on July 27, the fate of seven significant Manchester developments was decided on by the council's planning committee at the last meeting before the summer break.

The proposed developments included hundreds of student flats which were approved, but a controversial block was rejected for a third time by the committee.

The 11-storey tower planned on the site of the former Gamecock pub in Hulme has been voted against twice previously, and due to opposition from local residents, the proposal was rejected again.

Six other developments were approved at the meeting last week, which means Manchester is set to see more tower blocks and affordable homes popping up over the next few years.
