00:00 Dato Sri Anwar bin Ibrahim, Prime Minister, to deliver a speech.
00:06 With all his respect, please.
00:09 No one can deny that Dr Ismail is a nationalist, a nationalist, a nationalist,
00:23 a nationalist who is in the UNO and is representing the UNO as a third party.
00:29 No one can deny that.
00:31 But his message never ran away.
00:34 That to save the Malay land,
00:38 and then Malaysia must raise a generation with awareness of the Malay nation's dignity,
00:48 maintain harmony, strengthen the relationship between the Chinese and Indian people before Sabah and Sarawak.
00:58 I still remember his speech at the UNO, the Muslim League.
01:04 He never ran away from the point of view of consistency and consistency.
01:09 Emphasizing the need for this country to be saved with an open attitude
01:16 to accept all citizens in one spirit of the Tulin family.
01:23 This is what we must learn. Remembering the role of the Muslim figures,
01:28 not to talk about dust, not for nostalgia,
01:36 but to revive the message of their sacred voice,
01:43 how to lay the foundation and save the nation.
01:49 And for me, among the most relevant things in our discussion in the month of nationality,
01:57 before the day of independence of Malaysia, 31 August,
02:01 and the day of Malaysia, we together with Sabah and Sarawak, 16 September,
02:06 is to revive the sacred voice, the idealism, the firm principle,
02:14 which is brought by our leaders, including the spirit of unity,
02:21 living in peace as a big family, a beloved country of Malaysia.
02:26 In fact, there are other figures that we must understand about Dr. Ismail.
02:33 In the political world, not many can create a firm figure.
02:40 After 1969, there was an incident before that.
02:45 Some said that Dr. Ismail was upset because he was a religious man.
02:49 He wanted to strengthen the faith, but he had some foundations that he may not like.
02:56 So he said, let him take a vacation.
02:59 But when the incident of 13 May 1969 happened,
03:07 when the late Tukar Abdul Rahman and Tuan Abdul Razak invited him together,
03:13 especially Tuan Abdul Razak, together in the movement of the country, Magheran,
03:18 they needed a firm figure, with integrity, not corrupt, and respected by the community.
03:26 He was the figure who saved the country from the conflict that happened after 69 May.
03:33 That was Soso.
03:37 At that time, we were grateful, Alhamdulillah,
03:41 our country gave birth to great fighters.
03:46 Imagine, at that time, after 69 May,
03:49 the enmity of the people, according to Tengku Razali, was still strong.
03:55 It was easy to burn, but it was still burning.
03:59 Young people, as good as they heard, this challenged our society,
04:04 they were angry, their spirit was shaken.
04:08 They did not swallow the facts.
04:11 Especially in the world of social media today.
04:16 Two minutes, because we judge,
04:19 judge people, slander people, discuss people,
04:22 with two-minute news that was not swallowed and the principle of inspection.
04:27 At that time, 69, when the incident of 13 May,
04:33 this figure appeared.
04:35 He was invited and he did not think long.
04:39 Not a question of his personality, not a question of his appearance,
04:43 not a question of his attitude and his anger,
04:46 or not satisfied with some of the past.
04:49 His task was only how and how to save the Malay land,
04:59 a newly independent and sovereign country,
05:03 and with determination and courage.
05:05 His character, as it was said earlier,
05:10 not patient, not impatient,
05:13 the wrong is wrong,
05:16 you are caught,
05:18 you violate the law, we punish.
05:21 That's the voice of Dr. Ismail.
05:23 If I get 20% of that voice, I'm safe.
05:27 But his personality is different.
05:35 I'm more relaxed.
05:38 So if you hear a grunt, people do not feel grunts.
05:41 Dr. Ismail, I do not know how he deals with his children.
05:46 But he did not have to speak.
05:49 He came, grunt, maybe a little bit of his mischief,
05:54 everyone was silent.
05:56 And yes, at that time I was a professor, I had not studied politics.
06:02 Politicians know.
06:04 But people respect him because of integrity.
06:07 He can not be bought.
06:09 Not fed with money or wealth.
06:14 And this is what we need to live in the political culture in our country.
06:19 This country is able to save if its leaders have integrity.
06:24 Reject corruption, reject cruelty,
06:27 and firmly implement the laws to save the nation.
06:32 So if I am asked,
06:36 Anwar, in the current generation,
06:39 your turn and your friends to decide,
06:43 Fadhilah from Sarawak, Zahid from Semenanjung,
06:48 Minister of Commerce,
06:52 I am a merchant from Sarawak too.
06:56 What can I say from the experience of this great figure?
07:01 It is a clear foundation.
07:07 To build a nation, the foundation is clear.
07:11 That is to build a country,
07:15 to promote the development,
07:17 to save the country,
07:20 to give hope to every citizen of the country.
07:23 The majority of Malays who still feel left out,
07:26 or the Indians who still feel poor,
07:29 or the Chinese who feel their rights are neglected and not given a chance,
07:34 or the groups in Sabah and Sarawak who feel
07:38 they should be given a reasonable recognition
07:42 according to the Malaysia 1963 agreement.
07:47 But another aspect that we must learn
07:52 is the question of integrity in politics.
07:56 How can we give birth to,
07:59 in the current generation,
08:02 people whose goal is to save the country and the nation?
08:09 How can we give birth to a generation,
08:13 including young people,
08:15 who are bound by the same principle,
08:20 that is,
08:22 together we build,
08:24 to reject social tyranny,
08:27 corruption, and exploitation of power?
08:31 What we are discussing is the initial guarantee.
08:35 Marutul Mabdur Razak,
08:38 and now, the State Secretary, Dr. Ismail.
08:42 But we must question,
08:46 how?
08:49 What is the problem?
08:51 Tens of years later,
08:54 there are figures, I do not want to deny,
08:57 but it is difficult to be compared and competed with,
09:01 figures who have such integrity,
09:04 their speech,
09:06 their voice is firm,
09:09 their personality and character are against corruption,
09:13 and good management,
09:17 and because of that, they are despised by the people.
09:20 Let us pray, Allah Almighty,
09:22 that hopefully,
09:24 that spirit is spread,
09:27 and especially forbidden by young people,
09:31 that we have a duty and responsibility
09:35 to save the country,
09:38 and to make the National Day celebration,
09:41 Malaysia Independence,
09:43 Malay Independence, 1997,
09:46 by digging the treasures,
09:50 and to make it a pure dream,
09:54 of the heroes of the nation and the nation of the world,
09:58 especially the late Dr. Ismail,
10:01 as our leader.
10:03 I would like to thank you once again,
10:06 for being here with us,
10:09 and I choose to leave
10:12 the text that I have prepared,
10:17 because I think it is more reasonable
10:20 to share my feelings and my heart,
10:23 the voice of the heart of Nurani,
10:27 commemorating a great figure,
10:30 Malay, Malaya, and then Malaysia,
10:34 that we have honoured,
10:37 the late Dr. Ismail.
10:40 Thank you.
10:41 May peace be upon you.
