Hippo Strolls Into Petrol Station In South Africa | Wild-ish TV

A hungry hippo stunned drivers when it turned up for a late-night visit to a PETROL STATION. The massive herbivores are known to graze at night, but it’s not known if this animal wanted to swap a plant-based diet for some garage snacks. In this amazing videoshot by a passer-by the hippo can be seen casually walking onto the forecourt of OK Express at Engen, Saint Lucia, Kwazulu-Natal, South Africa. Thankfully despite being one of Africa’s most dangerous animals the semi-aquatic visitor left the petrol station without any issue. The video shows this seemingly gentle giant stroll past the pumps before making its way down the road. Garage owner Anel Snyman said despite seeming unusual the local area was a popular site for hippos. Saint Lucia is on the coast of north east South Africa and famed for its beaches and turtle watching – as well as hippos and Nile crocodiles.
