420 HP, Coming with Better Air and Reinforced Chassis, New Nissan Z Nismo 2024

The 2024 Nissan Z Nismo brings the impressive sports car additional performance and a more striking appearance that will excite enthusiasts. While US prices have not been announced, it is known that the Z Nismo will go on sale this fall.

Nissan's upgrade package begins on the aerodynamic front, where the Z Nismo proudly boasts that it produces "positive downforce" thanks to a host of new components. These include a revised front bumper and the splitter package known as the 'Grand-Nose' or 'G-Nose' that goes further and takes its design inspiration from the Faily 240ZG. The new bumper also has canards at each corner of the bumper to create swirls on the front wheels.

Changes continue along the sides, where there are new sills to reduce drag and lift, as well as a more prominent lip spoiler that extends to the rear fenders. Nissan engineers also revised the rear bumper to reduce drag. A unique set of 19-inch Rays wheels with a glossy black finish was also developed for the car. Buyers will be able to order the vehicle in Black Diamond Pearl, Brilliant Silver, Passion Red TriCoat, Everest White Pearl TriCoast and Stealth Grey.

As expected, Nissan also made upgrades to improve the car's handling. For example, there are new stabilizer bars, a stiffer spring rate, and larger, retuned shock absorbers. A set of new Dunlop SP Sport MAXX GT600 tires also come as standard and measure 285/35 on the rear axle, making them 10mm wider than the regular Z Performance. Said 19-inch wheels are 10 inches wide at the front and 10.5 inches at the rear, but slightly lighter than the Z's standard wheels. Additional front, rear and rear underfloor struts, as well as stiffer front and rear suspension bushings further enhance the car's performance. The steering rack also has a stiffer mounting bushing.

On the engine front, Nissan revised the electronic wastegate control to increase the turbocharger boost and turbine speed while improving cooling for the 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6. The engine delivers 420 hp and 384 lb-ft of torque, with significant increases of 20 hp and 34 lb-ft over the standard model. An enhanced engine oil cooler is also standard.

Changes to the Nissan Z Nismo feature red engine start/stop and drive mode buttons, revised graphics for the digital instrument cluster, Recaro seats upholstered in leather and Alcantara, and a new steering wheel covered in leather and Alcantara.
