China's weather service on Saturday issued a red alert for torrential rain in the capital Beijing and surrounding provinces, as Typhoon Doksuri swept inland bringing hazardous weather conditions to many parts of the country. Tens of thousands of people were evacuated from flood-prone areas of Beijing as Typhoon Doksuri lashed China's capital with heavy rain on Sunday and residents were urged to stay indoors.
