A teenage boy has been arrested after a seven-year-old schoolgirl died in a hit-and-run crash involving a motorbike. Emergency services rushed to Turnstone Road in Walsall, after the youngster was run over at 7pm yesterday (Thursday, July 27).
Despite the efforts of medics the girl, who has not yet been identified, could not be saved. West Midlands Police said the arrested teenager, who is 14, remains in custody and detectives are now appealing to the public to come forward with information.
The force said the motorcycle is a road bike and is blue and black, but its exact make and model had not yet been determined. They said the heartbroken family of the girl are being supported by specially-trained family liaison officers.
