Trump Lawyer's Fake Allegations
Rudy Giuliani, the former lawyer of then-President Donald Trump, conceded in a court filing that he made "false" statements about two Georgia election workers suing him over baseless claims of fraud. Ruby Freeman and her daughter, Wandrea "Shaye" Moss, had been accused by Giuliani of committing fraud during the 2020 presidential election. These claims were based on a heavily edited, brief clip of security footage that circulated online and was used as supposed evidence by Trump allies. The two election workers stated that Giuliani's and Trump's allegations of election fraud against them were false from the beginning and caused significant harm to their lives. After a yearslong investigation, Georgia's State Election Board cleared the election workers, Freeman and Moss, of any wrongdoing, stating that the alleged election fraud claims at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta were "unsubstantiated and found to have no merit," before Giuliani's court filing.
