Leading Think Tanks Cut Taiwan GDP Growth Forecast to 1.6%

Two local think thanks — the Taiwan Institute of Economic Research (TIER) and the Chung-Hua Institution for Economic Research (CIER) — have lowered their 2023 economic forecast for Taiwan. Both now predict growth of around 1.6% for the year, citing poor exports and investment.
