Jaguar Land Rover to build electric car battery plant in UK
  • 9 months ago
The Indian owner of Jaguar Land Rover has announced plans to build an electric vehicle battery plant in the UK. Tata will build one of Europe’s largest battery cell manufacturing sites and aim to have it up and running in 2026. The site of the £4 billion factory is widely reported to be in Bridgwater, Somerset. The government says the new plant will create around 4,000 jobs. The government also says they stepped in with subsidies to entice Tata to build the plant in Britain rather than elsewhere in Europe, although they have not disclosed just how much.
