Triplets who were separated at birth reunited with each other at 11 years old and now live in the same city.

Rikki Jump, 32, and her sisters, Julianne Scavo and Kendall Scavo, were born on June 7, 1991 but their mum, Kathleen, 67, couldn't afford to keep all three babies.

Kathleen decided to keep Rikki - as Julianna and Kendall were head down, Kathleen took it as a sign they were meant to be together - and put Julianna and Kendall up for adoption as twins.

Rikki grew up knowing she was a triplet - but her sisters had no idea she existed.

They were adopted by Tina, 65 , Ken, who passed away, and lived 40 minutes away in Fort Collins, Colorado, US - while Rikki remained in Fort Lupton, Colorado, US, with her mum and dad, Lee, who passed away.

At the age of eight, Rikki decided to reach out to her sisters and started writing letters.

The trio wrote to each other for three years before meeting up for the first time aged 11 - where they went to the shopping mall and watched a movie.

When Rikki was 13, she discovered she and her sisters were conceived through intrauterine insemination (IUI) - where sperm is injected directly into the womb - because Rikki's father had already had a vasectomy.

When she was 26, Rikki started researching her family history and in December 2022, she tracked down their biological dad - who does not wish to be identified.

Rikki and Jullianne met him for the first time in April 2023.

Rikki, a head of sales, from Austin, Texas, US, said: "When my mum fell pregnant, this was the early 90s, so they didn't do as many ultrasounds as they do now.

"When my mum was seven months pregnant, she was measured.

"She was 28 weeks and measuring at 32 and that was when they performed an ultrasound and found out she was having triplets.

"My mum and dad had only prepared for one baby.

"With my mum being deaf and not being well off financially, my parents made the decision to put the other two up for adoption.

"My parents always told me I was a triplet, but my sister didn't know about me.

"We have a very strong bond and we established that in writing so when we met we felt like we had known each other forever.

"It was more meaningful for our parents, my mum Kathleen had always suffered from a lot of guilt and shame about what she had done.

"When she saw them with her parents she knew she had done the right thing."
