Dutton wants to exclude candidates with government connections

The next Reserve Bank governor could be announced as early as tomorrow. But even before the appointment is revealed a public brawl has erupted over RBA boss Philip Lowe’s potential successors. Opposition Leader Peter Dutton is suggesting two of the front runners aren't right for the job and would undermine the central bank's independence.
