EU parliament calls to discuss Manipur issue; Indian govt calls it ‘internal matter’ | Oneindia News

The European Parliament was scheduled to discuss the situation in Manipur. But India said that it has been made clear to the European parliamentarians that this is a matter absolutely internal to India. That India had tried to persuade European Union parliamentarians to reconsider their decision to submit resolutions for a discussion on Manipur. Foreign Secretary Vinay Mohan Kwatra said that the Manipur question is a matter totally internal to India. Earlier, a motion for a resolution on the Manipur situation was tabled in the Brussels-based EU parliament. It was scheduled to be taken up on Wednesday ahead of PM Narendra Modi’s visit to France.
