NDRF conducted a joint rescue operation with ITBP and Home Guard personnel on July 12 and saved twenty-eight stranded trekkers and shepherds from Kinnaur, Himachal Pradesh’s Kara area.

Due to the rising water levels in the state after heavy rainfall, eleven people were trapped around fifteen kilometres from Kafnu village.

According to NDRF, the rescue teams embarked on the mission on July 10 by overcoming road blockages and staying overnight at a local school.
