Glasgow headlines 3 July: Four arrested in Orange Order procession
  • 10 months ago
Officers made four arrests during the Orange Order procession on 1 July for breach of the peace and anti-social behaviour, Police Scotland has confirmed.

Thousands took to the streets of Glasgow to participate in the event which saw Orange Lodge members march through the city towards Glasgow Green.

Next, a local man has condemned Glasgow City Council after benches and bins were removed from Glasgow Green a week before TRNSMT, despite not being on festival grounds.

John Crossan started a petition earlier in the year calling for infrastructure to be left in place as it deprives park users of having a place to sit, arguing that in previous years they’ve taken months to be reinstalled.

The council said they remove benches and bins so they do not get damaged during the festival.

And finally, Loganair has brought in a larger new aircraft to Glasgow Airport as part of a multi-million pound investment.

The plane will host routes from the city to Islay, Benbecula, Sumburgh and Donegal from August, with plans to incorporate additional services.

Aircraft capacity will increase by 45 percent, with larger overhead luggage storage, seating, and a larger pet carriage.
