'Fascinating Symbiotic Relationship' - Intimidating Moray Eel lets Cleaner Shrimp remove dirt from its mouth

An insane amount of trust is on display in this enthralling underwater footage.

"During one of my dives in Tulamben, I spotted a beautiful Honeycomb moray eel under a coral formation, and to my surprise, it was surrounded by cleaner shrimps," the filmer, David Vazquez, told WooGlobe. "As I am aware of their symbiotic relationship, I waited for the magic to happen."

Despite the considerable wait, David's perseverance pays off as he finally witnesses the desired interaction between the moray eel and cleaner shrimp.

"As the moray eel opened its mouth wide, the cleaner shrimp took advantage of this opportunity and crawled inside to begin its cleaning job," the filmer commented. "A cool moment of two different organisms working together to survive."
