NASA Is Developing , an AI Assistant for Astronauts.
NASA is creating an interface that is
similar to ChatGPT which will help astronauts complete tasks in space, Engadget reports. .
The idea is to get to a point where we have conversational interactions with space vehicles and they [are] also talking back to us on alerts, interesting findings they see in the solar system and beyond, Dr. Larissa Suzuki, a visiting researcher at NASA, via statement.

It's really not like
science fiction anymore, Dr. Larissa Suzuki, a visiting researcher at NASA, via statement.
NASA wants to use the new system on the Lunar Gateway, a space station that will be utilized for the Artemis mission.
The interface would let astronauts
quickly seek advice regarding experiments or maneuvers without having to reference manuals.
AI will also be used to complete
autonomous operations when the
Lunar Gateway is unoccupied, NASA says.
An example of this would be using AI to fix transmission glitches and other digital outages.
We cannot send an engineer up in space whenever a space vehicle goes offline or its software breaks somehow, Dr. Larissa Suzuki, a visiting researcher at NASA, via statement
