This panda mum doesn't realise she's had twins!

This panda mum doesn't realise she's had twins! Oh, that's quite interesting! Pandas are known for their adorable and sometimes quirky behavior. While it's not common, it is possible for a panda mother to not immediately realize she has given birth to twins. This can happen due to a variety of reasons.

One possible explanation is that the mother panda may be inexperienced or overwhelmed by the process of giving birth and taking care of two cubs simultaneously. Pandas are typically solitary animals, and in the wild, mothers raise their cubs on their own. The mother may not initially notice the second cub if it is born while she is occupied with cleaning or nursing the first cub.

Another reason could be that the mother panda may not be able to adequately distinguish between her cubs due to their similar appearance. Panda cubs are born extremely small and are practically hairless. They have a pinkish coloration and are difficult to tell apart in the early stages. It may take some time for the mother to differentiate between her cubs, especially if they are born close together.

In such cases, zookeepers or animal caretakers may need to intervene to ensure the well-being of both cubs. They would closely monitor the situation and step in if necessary, ensuring that both cubs receive the necessary care and attention they need to thrive.

It's important to note that my knowledge cutoff is in September 2021, so there might be more recent developments or studies regarding this behavior.
