Locals unite to reject Perth council’s groyne plan to prevent coastline erosion

More than 2,000 locals are pushing back against the City of Joondalup's proposal to install 17 stone barriers along the beach to prevent the coast from eroding. The coastline of popular beaches between Hillarys and Mullaloo is projected to recede hundreds of metres over the next century, which could wipe out beaches, coastal roads and even homes.
