For decades, the Mummy Museum of Guanajuato has been a popular destination for tourists in the picturesque central Mexican city also known for its cobbled streets and colonial architecture. But in recent months the museum has been mired in controversy amid health concerns of exhibiting the mummified bodies, as well as what some say is a lack of respect in a country that shows special reverence for the dead.
