Following days of speculation and anticipation, Celtic Football Club has finally confirmed Brendan Rodgers is set to take over as manager following Ange Postecoglou’s departure.

Rodgers will return to the club four years after his previous stint as boss.

A club statement said they were delighted to announce Brendan Rodgers has been appointed to the role on a three year contract.

Next up, a fresh search has launched to find a Renfrew man who went missing while on holiday in Lanzarote in March.

53-year-old Gary Watson Shearer was staying in the Puerto del Carmen resort to celebrate St Patrick’s Day and was last seen on the morning of 17 March and then failed to show up for his flight the following week.

And in other news, Banksy fans queued for hours outside the GOMA on 18 March as the street artist’s exhibition opened to the public.

The showcase is due to run for three months and has attracted spectators from right across the UK, and even as far away as New York.
