Birds of a feather flock together. II (羽毛の鳥は一緒に群がる。I, Umō no tori wa issho ni muragaru II) is the 3rd episode of the second season of The Ancient Magus Bride anime.
Synopsis
Chise shares a meal with her new classmates, but several teachers and students at the College have their eyes on her and Elias for unknown reasons. Chise and Elias head home for the weekend, and Stella drops by for a visit.
Summary
A drowsy Tory awakens in his office and laments that he may have missed his class, and as he exits, the place overhears Rian's proposal to Chise. Tory then intervenes, and greets Chise, who then asks him where Elias was, Rian then mentions he saw him be dragged away by Renfred. When asked what Chise's relationship is with Elias, she responds he's her teacher, which Tory mentions it's similar to his relationship with Rian. Before Chise can ask Rian about his request, he cuts her off, offering to take them to where Elias is.
Continuing onward, Rian stops midway and asks Alice about her familiar Will o' The Wisp and also expresses his interest in observing her perform Magic. However, Will o' The Wisp appears and claims that Alice has no talent for Magic, and Ruth, who also appears, backs him up. Rian takes an immediate interest in Will o' The Wisp, who also comments that his Magic aptitude reaks of rust.
Chise then asks why Rian wants to learn Magic, and Rian claims he wants to make someone happy, but internally alludes to Tory. They then overhear Renfred reprimand Elias over his actions back in his class. Narcisse was also there and wanted to spectate the situation while pointing out Chise's group. Once Chise's group enters the room, Narcisse notes his opinion of Chise and offers to teach her about Language arts whenever she pleases. Before leaving, Narcisse suggests they head to the cafeteria, and Rian offers to guide them.
In the hallway, Narcisse is met by another teacher named Gregory, who asks Principal Liza her opinion of Chise and then asks Narcisse the same question. In Narcisse's opinion, Chise is another normal school girl who won't be a detriment to the College or Principal. Before leaving, Gregory asks that Narcisse keep an eye on her, noting she's not the only oddball enrolled that year. Amused by the request, Narcisse reveals that Gregory is the Vice-principal who never gets a break.
At the cafeteria, Rian explains its hours of operation and its services. They're then met by the student Beatrice, who invites them to the table where most of their peers sit. The peers introduce themselves as, Sofia, Isaac, Kevin, Martin, Jasmine, Violet, Lazurus, Roy, & Zoe.
