The water level of the Brahmaputra River has started rising due to heavy rain in Guwahati. The heavy rainfall also caused waterlogging in several low-lying parts of the city.

Assam Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) said on June 17 that nearly 38,000 people in 13 districts of the state have been affected by the current flood.

ASDMA mentioned that many rivers are flowing above danger level mark at various districts in the state.
