Saudi Minister of #Islamic Affairs and Da'wah and Guidance Dr. Abdul Latif Al Sheikh has banned the use of cameras to collect #donations and broadcast prayer scenes during Ramadan
According to Akaz newspaper, the Minister of Islamic Affairs has issued an order to make necessary arrangements in all mosques to welcome Ramadan.
The Minister of Islamic Affairs has issued a written directive to the heads of all branches of the ministry in the state.
In the written instruction, it was said that the imams and muezzins of the mosques should fully comply with their duties. Do not be absent from duty during Ramadan under any circumstances other than extreme necessity. Make alternate arrangements for Imamat and Azaan in case of absence. Get approval from the administration of the ministry.
An instruction has been given that the Adhan should be given at a fixed time in the Umm al-Qari calendar. #Azan for Isha should be given at the appointed time in Ramadan. The period of Takbeer should be observed after the Adhan.
The Saudi Minister of Islamic Affairs also directed that the regulations for the installation of cameras in mosques should be followed, cameras should not be used to photograph the imam and worshipers during prayers. Prayer scenes should not be broadcasted by media.
An instruction has been given that 'Permits for I'tikaf will be issued by the imam of the mosque and he will be responsible for ensuring that those who do I'tikaf do not do anything against the law.'
It will be the responsibility of the imam to register the private information of the pilgrims. A letter of approval of the sponsor will also be sought from the foreigner wishing to do #Itikaf.
It was further said in the statement that donations should not be collected under any heading including #iftar. Adhere to the prescribed regulations regarding iftar table. It will not be allowed to set up tents or set up temporary rooms for Iftar table.
