Trump Indicted Over Classified Docs
A federal grand jury has indicted former President Donald Trump for his handling of classified documents at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida. This marks the first time the federal government has brought charges against a former president. The indictment includes seven counts, including violations of the Espionage Act, obstruction, and false statements. The charges stem from allegations that Trump deliberately withheld sensitive documents related to U.S. intelligence and defense plans, despite demands from prosecutors to return them. The case against Trump comes as a separate special counsel investigates the presence of classified documents at President Biden's home and office during his time as vice president. A third inquiry into similar documents found at former Vice President Mike Pence's home has been closed by the Justice Department.
