A 99-year-old woman celebrated turning 100 by being driven at by motorbike stunt riders in the middle of the ring at an extreme circus.

War veteran Annie Duplock even got to sample the "Globe of Death" when she took centre stage at Circus Extreme on Thursday night (1/6).

The former Land Army girl said she had always dreamed of joining the circus since becoming part of a promotional team for a travelling show at the age of 70.

And her dream came true when she bravely took to the stage at Birmingham's NEC where extreme drift bike riders narrowly zoomed past her with their revving engines.

The show, which describes itself as the "world's most extreme circus", said they were delighted to help Annie become their "latest stuntwoman".
