'The Occultation' - Man stays up all night to catch Jupiter passing behind the moon
  • 11 months ago
Tan Nguyen's pursuit to capture phenomenal space gems led him to document an awe-inducing occultation.

"I’m an amateur astronomer; On May 17, there was an astronomical event known as an occultation," Tan explained to WooGlobe. "Jupiter was to pass behind the moon in the early hours of dawn. I stayed up all night to prepare for the event.

"I had a few cameras running along with my main telescope. I recorded Jupiter passing behind the moon but didn’t get a chance to see it come out from the other side due to how bright it got from the sun coming up."

In addition to the enchanting Jupiter/moon crossover, Tan managed to get a sick shot of Saturn in all its glory. Incredible stuff!
