Jasmine Ramilo seizes bronze in Asian junior championships
Gymnast Jasmine Ramilo clinches a bronze medal at the 19th Junior Rhythmic Gymnastics Asian Championships at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium on Saturday, June 3, 2023. Born and raised in Rome, Italy to Filipino immigrants, Ramilo, 15, competed in her first international tournament held in the Philippines, which she was visiting for the first time. Her score of 27.30 points was good enough for a podium finish as she gave the Philippines its lone medal in the final day of the four-day event. Ramilo, who traces her Filipino roots to Santa Catalina, Ilocos Sur, also competed in the ribbon event but settled for fifth place with a score of 24.95 points.
