Jeremy Corbyn was speaking at the first day of a month-long strike by St Mungo's staff, due to an ongoing dispute over pay.

Unite says that in the last 10 years, the pay of senior management at the homeless charity has increased by 350%, compared to a 25% cut for its front-line workers.

The strike action has been organised after staff were offered a “pitiful” 2.25% pay rise, with members balloted across southern England.
