00:00 Hey loves, it's Naky Louise here, welcome back to my channel.
00:02 For today's makeup tutorial, I was suggested to do a beginner's makeup tutorial.
00:06 You know, you never know what to do!
00:08 With all this makeup, you need something simple.
00:10 But don't freak out, don't you dare faint!
00:13 Get back up girl!
00:15 Let's get started!
00:18 First you need a primer, and since you're beginning, you want a lightweight primer,
00:22 which creates a flawless canvas for smooth makeup application while extending the wear
00:27 of makeup.
00:28 Apply with fingertips until your face and gently blend into skin.
00:32 Let it set and follow with makeup.
00:34 This is Hard Candy Sheer Envy Primer, the Ultra Light Formula.
00:37 Now to help it dry long, I'm using a piece of paper, I forgot where my fan is.
00:41 Next you're gonna need a foundation.
00:43 This is from Benefit.
00:44 It's Hello Flawless Oil-Free Oxygen Blout Broad Spectrum SPF 25 Brightening Sunscreen
00:50 Makeup.
00:51 How do you know the foundation is for you?
00:53 You use the outer thing of your hand, as you can see.
00:56 You put one pump and you blend it in, and then you compare it with the other hand and
01:00 you see how it matches.
01:01 And that's how you know which foundation works for you.
01:14 So not a lot of people have brushes, like a foundation brush, so what you can use is
01:19 sponge.
01:20 Sponges are awesome.
01:21 I have this big huge pack, and so today I'll be using a sponge.
01:25 I'm going to apply it just as if I didn't have makeup brushes.
01:31 Apply it all over your face and your neck.
01:33 The reason why you apply it to your neck is so you don't look like you have a circle of
01:36 makeup like a clown, and also it makes it look more natural.
01:44 Concealers.
01:47 Concealers are used to hide imperfections, that's why they're called concealers.
01:51 You conceal whatever you don't like.
01:53 I mostly use it just for under my eyes, but I don't feel like I have that much of a big
01:57 bag, so it's not necessary.
01:58 Get rid of it.
01:59 You don't need to use it.
02:00 Okay, now it's time for face powders.
02:03 Face powders are a very tricky thing, because if you get a colored powder that is too dark
02:08 for you, it's not going to look good.
02:10 And if it's too light, you're going to look weird.
02:12 So might as well go with something easy, like a translucent powder that I have right there.
02:17 And using translucent powders are so easy because it dries on with color, but then it
02:24 dries clear, basically.
02:26 And what you can use if you don't have powder brushes, you can use cotton balls.
02:31 What?
02:32 I know, shocking.
02:33 But yes, cotton balls are perfect.
02:37 You'll see me use it right now.
02:38 Up next is blush, because you aren't blushing all the time, so why not make it look like
02:53 you're blushing all the time?
02:54 Now if you don't have a blush, you can use a light pink eyeshadow or a pink that compliments
03:00 your skin tone.
03:01 This was the eyeshadow I used to use when I didn't have a blush, because I didn't really
03:05 understand blush.
03:07 Light blush basically just makes you, it adds color to your face and it makes you look pretty.
03:12 Basically that's what makeup is.
03:14 It makes you look pretty.
03:17 So if you don't have a blush brush or any type of brush, once again, my friend, the
03:23 cotton ball.
03:24 Yes.
03:25 You will see me apply my blush with a cotton ball and you will be surprised how amazing
03:30 it looks.
03:31 Now, most people just do like a big circle, like jigsaw, and that's a mistake because
03:35 you look crazy.
03:37 You want to make it side swept and the way you do that is you apply a little bit and
03:41 then you sweep it to the side so it looks a little more natural and it doesn't look
03:45 all weird and creepy.
03:47 Now if you apply too much brush, I mean not brush, if you apply too much blush, use the
03:53 same sponge that you used to apply your foundation to even it out by adding more foundation on
04:00 top of it.
04:01 Next is eyeshadow primer.
04:03 Primer is not necessarily a biggie that you must have because I never used it before but
04:08 they always suggested it so I started using it.
04:11 But most of your eyeshadows usually have primer that makes it last longer but I have it so
04:16 why not use it, you know?
04:22 Speaking of eyeshadow, which you're about to see, I have a lot and a lot, a lot, like
04:28 a lot of eyeshadows.
04:30 It's like overwhelming.
04:31 But you don't need that many.
04:32 You could use some small ones like these.
04:34 The one I'll be using today is from Clinique.
04:37 It is so old.
04:38 I practically had it since I was like 10.
04:41 I don't know what the number is, what it's called.
04:44 I just know it's Clinique and it has these three colors.
04:47 So if you don't have an eyeshadow brush, yes, you can use a q-tip.
04:53 Don't believe me?
04:54 Just watch.
04:55 Taking a q-tip, I'm going to apply the light kind of white color.
04:59 It's a beige-y, creamy color all over my eyelid under the crease.
05:06 It's so pretty.
05:13 Up next I'm taking the dark purple, kind of blackish, and I'm switching the q-tip upside
05:19 down because it's double-sided and I'm applying it to like half of the back corner of the
05:26 eye.
05:27 As you can see what I'm doing.
05:29 I honestly don't know what this technique is or what it does.
05:32 I'm not a licensed professional, but I've done this before.
05:36 It looks pretty.
05:38 It's simple.
05:39 You can use it every single day.
05:42 So here we go.
05:45 Okay, so when you're done applying the eyeshadow, the darker one, you kind of want to blend
05:52 it in the middle, the middle, the middle, so it doesn't have like a harsh line through
05:57 it.
05:58 It's getting lighter, it's getting darker from lighter to darker.
06:02 So you put that away.
06:03 Up next is mascara.
06:05 Stay away from the eyelash curler.
06:07 You're brand new, you don't need it.
06:09 What the hell does curling your lashes have to do with anything?
06:12 My full lash bloom mascara, it has these hard bristles and it's painful if you stab your
06:17 eye.
06:18 While my other cover girl mascara, the flamed up mega curl, has soft brushes basically as
06:24 you can see.
06:25 I don't know if you can tell the difference, but trust me, you want something soft for
06:30 your first time.
06:31 It's no rush.
06:32 Don't need to get all fancy.
06:34 So just apply it to your upper and lower lashes.
06:44 Trust me, I know you're going to want to do eyeliner, but no.
06:47 Stay away from eyeliner, you'll stab your eye out.
06:50 Now it's time for the lips.
06:51 You can go with either a light pink lipstick, a nice lip gloss, or you can even go with
06:58 chapstick.
06:59 It is basically on your preference.
07:13 Here's the look so far.
07:14 You see, you don't need expensive brushes, expensive eyeshadows.
07:19 Go for something simple and cute that you can use every single day.
07:30 Now we know we want them on point eyebrows, but if you don't got a comb/brush, yes, my
07:37 friend the Q-tip is back and a little saliva.
07:40 Sorry, no one needs to know.
07:42 You just apply it all over your eyelid, your eyebrows.
07:45 Sorry, my eyebrows.
07:47 Your eyebrows.
07:48 And just slick it, slick it on fleek.
07:52 Or you can use your fingers.
07:53 Here's the finished look.
07:56 Well, that is the finished look, you guys.
