BIRTHDAY OF BIBI FATIMA ZEHRA CELEBERATED AS MOTHER’S DAY IN THE ISLAMIC WORLD
Fatima al Zehra (A.S), is the daughter of Prophet Muhammad (A.S) and Khadija (A.S), the great lady and spiritual mother of the faithful ones. Fatima al Zehra (a.s), was born on the 20th of Jumaada al-thaani, five (5) years after her father took his prophet hood. Born in the city of Makkah, in Saudia Arabia. She had a lot of her father’s traits, of being noble, kindness, and being a great person like her father. Her father, the blessed prophet (a.s) had given her the title of being, “Leader of the ladies of the worlds.” She married Imam Ali (A.S), all the 11 Imams are her sons, grandsons and great grandsons. Her life was very short, she died at the young age of 18, on the 3rd of Jumaada al-thaani, in the 11th of Hijrah (Islamic Calendar). Her husband had prepared her body for burial and fulfilling her last wish in not letting anyone know where she is laid to rest. Fatima al Zehra (a.s) was loved greatly by her father, she is buried in Al-Baqi in Medina, Saudi Arabia.
“The Prophet Mohammed (SWAL) had said “Fatima is a part of me, all that pains her pains me, all that troubles her troubles me.” Musnad-e-Ahmad Vol. 4 page. 5
She and Imam Ali (A.S) had two sons, Imam Hassan (A.S) and Imam Hussain(A.S) and also Muhsin who was premature and did not survive, and they had two daughters Zainab and Ummi Kulthum, peace and blessings be upon them all.
