Musk Under Fire for Twitter Safety Violations
  • 11 months ago
A recent lawsuit against Elon Musk and Twitter reveals that a senior Twitter executive, Joseph Killian, resigned after refusing to install illegal locks in the bedrooms at Twitter's headquarters. Killian was allegedly instructed to install cheaper locks that would hinder first responders from accessing the rooms during emergencies, which violated building codes and could endanger staff in case of a fire. Killian raised concerns about the unsafe locks but was allegedly told not to report his concerns to the city inspector. He eventually resigned, and another employee installed the non-compliant locks. The lawsuit further alleges that Killian was instructed to install space heaters and perform non-compliant electrical work in the "hotel rooms" for overnight staff.
