00:00 Hi everyone, my name is Tina and today I will be doing a hair collaboration with some of my two closest friends here on YouTube, Jam and Sherry.
00:09 Please check out their videos, the links will be in the bottom bar and at the end of this tutorial.
00:15 And as for today's hair tutorial, I'm going to show you how to do an easy wedding hairstyle updo.
00:23 Okay, so let's start. We're going to split our hair and section off the sides and the crown and all the hair above the ears and the back.
00:31 So what you're left is all the hair below the ears. Then we're going to split that into three and then just make donuts.
00:38 We're going to take a section of hair and then wrap that strand around two fingers and then pin it.
00:45 Now you need to make sure that you pin both ends of the donut because during a wedding or a prom, there's going to be a lot of dancing and you don't want the hair falling apart.
00:55 So it's better to have too many pins in the hair as long as it's not showing than too little.
01:01 You can do this hairstyle with straight hair without any heat but it makes it a lot harder.
01:06 So I suggest that you curl your hair with a half an inch curling iron. Any products used will be in the description box as always.
01:13 So now we're on the second strand. For me, this strand is the longest because my hair is going to be big.
01:19 So wrapping it twice or even three times is not going to be enough.
01:22 So what I'm going to do here is wrap the hair around my fingers two, three times and then pin it.
01:27 And then with the same strand, I'm going to make another curl before pinning it.
01:32 Now I could have just wrapped it five, six, seven, eight times before pinning it once but it would have come out very bulky and ugly.
01:40 So consider what I said as you're making your curls.
01:43 You can either have one fat curl or you can have a couple of loose, fluffy curls but it will take more time and effort.
02:08 If your ends are thin, actually if your hair is thin, you might want to use this technique instead of this donut making method I'm trying to teach you today.
02:17 What you do is you're going to twist the strand until you get to the bottom and then hold on to the ends with one hand while with the other hand you pull up creating a natural teasing effect.
02:28 And then you just pin that piece.
02:30 I have a whole tutorial dedicated to this technique, Taylor Swift's formal hairstyle or something or another.
02:37 I'm going to link it for you here.
02:39 When the back is done, start teasing the crown before securing it down and then with the ends, we're just going to make more curls.

03:49 For the sides, you want to pull them tightly back in a twist.
03:53 So for the left side, you're going to twist it clockwise before pinning it across the previous bobby pin.
03:59 And for the right side, you're going to twist it counterclockwise before pinning it over the previous bobby pin.
04:05 Now make sure you use plenty of hairspray for a wedding or a prom event because it has to last many, many hours.
04:12 And then just have a blast.
