Artist carries out tedious but necessary process to rehydrate her dried-out gouache paints

The gouache painting technique has been endorsed by several acclaimed artists across the globe. However, one thing that isn't stressed enough is that preserving these thick, opaque watercolors alone is a challenge in itself.

In this video, Miriam Radcliffe is seen rehydrating her gouache colors that she hadn't used in quite some time. She uses toothpicks to stir up the dried-out paints.

"I hadn’t used my gouache in over six months, so it was very dried out," the filmer commented. "I ended up spending over three hours rehydrating it and trying to save it, which I did!"
