With the Indian Olympic Association stepping in to fasten the matter amid the ongoing wrestlers protest against Wrestling Federation of India President Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh over harassment case, Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur in Himachal Pradesh’s Hamirpur urged the protesters to end their protest and to show faith in country’s law and order.

“The committee was formed, and their concerns were also heard. An ad-hoc committee has been formed to start the day-to-day working of the Wrestling Federation by the Indian Olympic Association (IOA). Trials have also started for athletes. The Supreme Court has given its judgement. Delhi Police has also registered an FIR and is recording statements. The magistrate is also registering statements. They must have faith in our law and order and end their protest,” the Sports Minister said. The wrestlers’ protest that kick-started again in April, has been going on strong and is also gaining support from many across the country. The protest is against WFI President Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh over harassment case by women wrestlers including a minor. An FIR has been registered and an investigation is also under way. A few days ago, the protest garnered intense support by the farmers as well, who tried to join the protest in Delhi.
