Justin Ehrenwerth Death - Justin Ehrenwerth, The Water Institute of the Gulf CEO and president has passed away, he was said to have died by suicide. Ehrenwerth possesses a bachelor's degree from Colby College, a master's degree in philosophy, politics, and economics from the University of Oxford, and a juris doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania Law School. With their two sons, he and his wife, Dana Dupré, reside in New Orleans.
Who Is Justin Ehrenwerth?
In January of 2017, Justin R. Ehrenwerth was selected to serve as the second President and Chief Executive Officer of The Water Institute of the Gulf. Ehrenwerth was the first Executive Director of the Gulf Coast Ecosystem Restoration Council (also known as the Council) before he started working for the Institute. As a direct result of the oil disaster caused by the BP Deepwater Horizon, the Council was established, and it was given the responsibility of utilizing the billions of dollars in fines to rebuild the economy and ecosystem of the Gulf Coast, as well as to adapt to the effects of climate change. Ehrenwerth was responsible for overseeing all areas of the Council's programmatic, technical, and operational activities, and he was successful in establishing the Council as an independent federal institution.
Previously, Ehrenwerth held the position of Chief of Staff to the United States Deputy Secretary of Commerce. In this role, he aided the Deputy Secretary in overseeing matters related to policy, budgeting, and strategic planning. He concentrated his attention on issues that were important to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), such as difficult problems with regulation and management.
