Since the fall of the Soviet Union, Ussra has sought strategic partners in Eurasia, with China and India emerging as the top contenders. However, the conflict in Ukraine has left Russia more alone than ever. As a result, Russia needs India and China for its geopolitical aspirations more than either India or China needs Russia. This is true even if Russia has pushed collaboration with the two in both multilateral venues and in trilateral relations. Jagannath Panda of the Institute for Security and Development Policy talks about how Russia has affected China-Indian relations, the ramifications for American foreign policy, and how the US might navigate multilateral fora that incorporate this trilateral strategic alignment.
