The Casting Pearls Project is one of many outlets for abused victims of the “Message” cult, and its victims to share their stories and give hope to others who have suffered or are suffering from physical, sexual, and religious abuse. Brave victims of abuse, or “the pearls”, share terrifying stories that are sadly common among destructive cult churches.
Some of the victims were locked in basements or in cellars for hours — sometimes days — stripped naked and without food. [1] Some were forced to perform sexual acts on family members and friends. [2]. Many were denied privileges or freedoms ranging from reading books to basic human needs. All were victims of spiritual abuse, and many will say that religious abuse was the architecture that enabled all other forms of abuse.
The project is rightfully named after a passage from Matthew 7 in the Bible, “Do not give what is holy to the dogs; nor cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you in pieces.” William Branham introduced theology into the Latter Rain movement declaring women to be lower than swine, or hogs, designed by Satan for the sole purpose of sex and deception. Casting Pearls Project stands firmly against this false doctrine, picks the “pearls” back up, and empowers them to help others.
Sharing your story with others is a firm step forward in the healing process. By sharing your story, a line is drawn in the sand between where you are now, and where you came from. It places a historical marker in time that can be referenced later as a memory of what you were and what you have now become. Best of all, by doing so publicly, it is a beacon shining in the darkness for others, a message saying, “You, too, can escape and find freedom.”
