1. I was told a while back that I have a gift for making people who are different feel welcomed in the church. It's not a gift or special. It's called treating people the way you want to be treated. It's not rocket science lol. Interestingly enough I have a lot of non Catholic friends.
2. I've had interesting experiences in the Catholic church and too many racist ones to count. It's like having good experiences sandwiched in with the bad.
3. Out of all my groups, I would say I've seen major cliques within the Catholic church too. You would think that you can call your church home, but I guess not! And people fronting appearances has always been a thing. Is it a tall order to ask this: Can you be yourself? I know of people that will rack up tons of credit card debt to keep up with the joneses. I don't want to go into any hottubs, but I would appreciate a consistent personality...lol.
4. I've learned quickly that if some of them can't use you they don't want to be bothered. They come to you when you have money, but otherwise they act like you don't exist.
5. People of the BLM are not maggots and parasites. The priest has apologized and been removed but it's comments like that that will push people away.
