  • last year
Nintendo ($NTDOY@Japan) has reported a decline in profit and revenue for its fiscal year ending in March 2023, driven by a drop in sales of its flagship Switch console. The video game company sold 17.97 million units of the console series in the year, compared to over 23 million in the previous year. Nintendo said that shortages of semiconductors and other components impacted production, while it did not experience the same growth in sales during the holiday season as the previous year. The company's software sales also fell 9 percent year-on-year. Nintendo is forecasting sales of 15 million units of the Switch for the current fiscal year. Nintendo shares are up 3.6% this year
