Memorial for late Barry Humphries to be held in Sydney
  • last year
Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews says the family of Barry Humphries has declined his government’s offer of a state funeral choosing instead to hold a memorial in Sydney. Mr Humphries died in a Sydney hospital last month at the age of 89 following complications from hip surgery. Last week, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said plans were being made to honour the late entertainer with a joint state funeral involving Victoria, New South Wales, and the Commonwealth. However further details are yet to be revealed.
