Single parenting payment cut-off lifted from eight to 14

The parenting payment will now continue until age 14. It means that single parents will no longer be put on the lower jobseeker payment and be forced to look for work while their children are young. For the Albanese government the budget measure reverses a controversial policy extended under Julia Gillard.
