Tema ETFs, a new exchange-traded fund (ETF) platform, has received funding from many prominent financial figures, including Martin Gilbert, former CEO of Aberdeen Asset Management, and Michael Spencer, founder of interdealer broker ICAP. The platform aims to help hedge fund managers create ETF versions of their vehicles and launch a range of "institutional-grade" actively managed thematic ETFs. These will be focused on risk management and target under-tapped themes such as luxury goods, regulated monopolies, reshoring, and alternative asset managers. The platform also plans to develop infrastructure to help hedge fund managers enter the ETF market.
