As temperatures in the capital start to drop, the local flying fox population is flying to warmer coastal climes. But those injured in recent weeks will have to stay a little longer while local rescuers mend their wounds. Most injuries are caused by fruit-tree netting. But later this year legislation is expected to be introduced to increase availability of bat-friendly plant coverings.
