Police in Glasgow have issued a public warning, urging people to be cautious for ‘suspicious activity’ while using cash machines.
This comes after a recent incident where fraudsters used a specialist device to steal financial information in a scam referred to as ‘skimming’ or ‘cloning’.
Officers said to combat this, people should always shield their pin when withdrawing money.
Next up, teachers at Hutchesons’ Grammar School in the Southside have voted to strike in a row over pensions.
The EIS teaching union said that 78 percent of members balloted in favour of industrial action following the distribution of new contracts that would see pensions downgraded.
Recipients have also said the school is using fire and rehire tactics, accusations which Hutchesons’ has denied.
And in other news, plans to build over 300 new flats in one 19 storey block in the Cowcaddens area have been approved by the council.
The flats will offer one and two bedroom homes and studio apartments to rent, while the block will be part of a ‘car free’ scheme.
